Back to Basics: Steak & Spinach

Just because a meal requires zero prep time and only a few minutes of cooking time doesn’t mean it can’t be delicious and healthy. Sear the steak until it’s cooked to your liking, then saute the spinach (use the same pan to cut down on dishes), and you got dinner ready!

Active Time: 15 mins Total Time: 30 mins

Ingredients:

  • steak
  • spinach
  • oil or butter

Seasoning:

  • garlic powder or minced garlic
  • rosemary
  • salt

Equipment Needed:

  • Pan
  • Pot
  • Stovetop

Step 1: Pour yourself a glass of wine, crack a beer, or find another tasty beverage to get you in the cooking mood
Step 2: Oil and season steak
Step 3: Heat oil or butter in a pan over medium-high heat
Step 4: Cook steak for 2-3 minutes per side, until it reaches your desired level of done-ness
Step 5: Rinse spinach under some water and then dry the spinach
Step 6: Heat oil or butter in a pan over medium heat
Step 7: Saute spinach 3-5 minutes, until spinach is wilted. Stir the spinach every minute or so.
Step 8: Plate steak and spinach together and serve!
